Demilled M95 Straight Pull
Curious about demilled Austrian M95 long rifles. Who, what, when and where? The chamber is milled out in an inch long oval directly on the top and Bolt face firing pin hole is welded shut. I seem to recall this being a requirement after WWI but I can't currently find any information on it.
Looks like the rifles could be restored with a new barrel and bolt head, nothing else was altered.
De-milled Mannlicher rifles
Bulgarian High School Training Rifles ( "Drill") . Most were Painted Black ( Paint mostly worn away) and some have Bulgarian Cyrillic markings on stock.
Made from 8x56R chambered rifles, usually ( occasionally one finds an 8x50R chambered rifle).
A collector's item in its own right (School Military Trainer); some people have parted them out ( Receiver is still OK, as are most of the other smaller Parts; Bolt-head not always welded, may be soldered; and Firing Pin has been "cropped"; Barrel of course is Cactus.)
