.303 British Black Powder Blank Ammo

I use .303 blank ammo when giving living history demonstrations, and recently ordered 100 rounds. The ammo arrived and the boxes are labeled "Black Powder". Am I crazy to question if this is okay to discharge in my SMLE No.1 Mk III*?

Of course it won't be very "historical" unless you're demonstrating 19th century technology with a Lee-Metford. (SMLE's were made for 20th century smokeless service ammunition.) :)
