is it some sort of trench periscope?
If you have a copy of 'The British Sniper" its on pg 31. Fits over the butt of the SMLE. And is basically a periscopic sight. My example is broad arrow with inspectors markings and " N" possibly for Navy marked.Quote:

You lucky devil! That's quite a find..........& beautifully marked up, too. I have one of the spare prism assemblies that a pal gave me many years ago, but that's all. It's a really fascinating piece of history that you've got there.
