Is anyone there?
Mostly a test to see if anyone looks at this forum any more but while I have your attention I will ask a question. Have any of you who reload for the 50 cal noted how many times you can reload the brass? I know some brass you can reload like 10 times or so, take a propane torch and heat the case necks to soften them and then roload another 10 times or so. Still, with the newer Lake City 50 cal brass I have seen some of the necks start to split on once fired brass.

I have reloaded TZ from Israel at least 8 times without annealing the case mouths. I am careful to not set the shoulder back so that the case stretch is kept to a minimum. I have 2 rifles so I just keep the brass separated. Lake City brass has had a history of problems, but I am not sure what years are involved.

To anneal brass you heat it and then quench it in water. I've done it and it really softens brass!! Carl
