Hi Cinders, yes it's me. Although the price seems to be rocketing so I might have to pass on this....
-
Wait until you see the finish price...in the last 5 minutes...

Yep i would bail out on that , you see them quiet often on Ebay, usually sell for around $50. Be patient Hayboy.

This example on the end of the link which CINDERS has posted appears to have punched out of the sheet spring steel from what it was made. This is a good indicator that it hasn't been made recently. If, however, it had been laser cut which in this example appears not to be the case it would have been almost certain proof of it being fake/reproduction. Slightly embarrassingly, given that I work in the metalworking industry, I made this schoolboy error myself over a pair of Sten de-fouling pliers a couple of years ago. I paid the seller at a show the price of an original Sten de-fouling pliers but when I got it home realised that it had been laser cut, to my horror.

Yes I did the same with a set of 25th ALH collars to match the hat badge about as fake as Icarus flying to close to the sun.
I think the exchange rate of the BP against the AU $ is quite good its at @55 pence per $1 AU so 40 odd quid could have been yours Hayboy, its the old adage supply and demand eventually all you will be able to get is repro's what I think there were nearly 17 million 303 L.E made so we have a ways to go yet but the fakeries are showing up..........

Well its mine now anyway, I took the plunge and got in there with three minutes to go!
