Hello the front cover of the summer GCA journal shows a WW11 marine sitting on stack of boxes shooting his M1. On his belt is a US 1917 trench knife. I was always told that these WW1 trench knives were not issued in WW11. So I was wondering if I was mistaken and a few of these 1917 trench knives were issued in WW11.
Yes, they were issued. Marines never threw anything away, remember.
Indeed. Though not very versatile due to the blade shape, the M1917 trench knife saw more issue during the Second World War than during the Great War.Quote:
