I have looked for years for a 43 USMC barrel that I tought was actually installed by the Marine Corps. I've heard there are ones out there are real, but every single one I have seen,I did not think was installed
by the Marines.
I learned a lot time ago to never say never with the Marines, but of all the Marine 1903's I've seen, I've never seen one I thought was legit.
I always heard that, while the 1941 and 1942 Sedgely USMC barrels were used by the Marines, the 1943 and 1944 ones were not and went into "general circulation" or weren't used at all.
Several years back I got a nice 1944 Sedgley barrel out of the CMP. I am certain it came on a US Army '03 and CMP removed the barrel and sold it to me. Most people think by 1943 the Marines were heavily into the Garand rifle and stopped or slowed down the '03 rifles. Sedgley just kept on cranking them out with USMC markings until the Marines told Sedgley to stop production. I must add the nice Sedgley barrels ( nice meaning not bent) are very good shooters.
