1942 Remington M1903
Hello
After a long time without finding something new, i have at last the chance buying this M1903.
As it is impossible here in France to find a pristine 1903, I will settle for a nice shooter.
The serail number begins with 308xxxx (I can't give the full number, the rifle isn't mine)and the bore is an 9-44 HS.
The scant stock is a replacement, on the side there is only one marking: AO D.
Dear friends, what do you think of this 1903 REM?
best regards from France.

I think it may be about a perfect shooter for you. I'd have it too...

I forgot to show the target on which the owner shot at 200 meters.

That's better than many will do at 100...very nice. Obviously the barrel is fine. Good catch...you know you have to do the same now?

High Standard barrels have a very good reputation and I agree, it should make a fine shooter. Mixed parts. Date of the receiver is about April or May, 1942.

I guess the original worn Remington barrel was not replaced with this HS one in 1944?
The seller told me this gun was recovered in France, during the COLMAR BATTLE january/febuary 1945...

Hard to say. A lot could have happened in the last 70+ years.
