Probably a dumb question but where I can find Lee Enfield No.1 MK3 full wood in Canada, they seems hard to find, any source in USA where I can find them? I need some parts too to complete a full restoration.
Or another question, the restoration of No.1 is too expensive today?
No. 1 Mk. 3 or No. 1 Mk. 3* (a actual No. 1 Mk. 3 is very rare in original configuration)? They have been sold off to the civilian market for years now, so your best bet is gun shows, talking to people, and some gun stores. Another great source is the Equipment Exchange on Canadian Gun Nutz which is actually where I do most my buying of military surplus firearms.
In regards to your restoration question, only you can answer that. Odds are it will cost you more than a original will cost you, however it is up to you if you want to take that step.

5 years ago you could economically rebuild a sporter for 1/2 the cost of a original. Today you would be looking at spending the same amount to restore one as to buy a complete original. Wood along with all the metal parts are starting to become scarce.
They appear regularly enough on CanadianGunNutz and you should cruise there...or you could place a WTB here, specify Canadian purchase only...
I have been restoring Enfields for the last 25 years. Fore stocks and front hand guards have dried up for the No 1 and decent No 4 fore stocks are becoming harder to find.Quote:
