Early L96A1 magazine

I picked this up recently - it appears as if it is an early L96A1 magazine but without the tabs on the base. Hopefully Peter will concur.Attachment 77026Attachment 77027Attachment 77028

I THINK that you are right. There were three different types issued with the rifles, issued as spare parts and used. The ears on the base simply made it easier to remove.

That looks like a standard "coffin Bottom" L96 mag. The "winged" type that has the two tabs either side of the base appeared with the AW and is interchangeable with the Green Meanie.
