hi I have a fn 30-06 I would like to know how old it is. all that is on the rifle is fab nat dare=mes de guerre herstal belgique ser numbers both match 13182 had a circle wit small crown on top and ELC small star and D below it hope I can upload pictures and some one can help. the barrel looks like a sportster any help will be grateful thanks

Likely made in the 30s-60s. With that amount of information that is what I can provide. Unless there is a national crest or something to help identify the specific model (maybe barrel length if it isn't cut) I can't narrow it down more. The reason I say that range is simply because .30-06 didn't really become popular outside the States until after WWII when it was available as cheap surplus (or given away for free to allies). Many countries used FN made Mausers in .30-06, countries like Belgium, Columbia etc.

That's a Liege Belgium marking...Bushnell Banner optic, typical stepped barrel...made in Belgium. Those were a nice rifle when new, and smooth when used. I have a Husky in 30-06 myself.
Fairly certain it is a converted GI rifle. Does have a stepped barrel and clip guides, usually military usage. Does look like a nice hunting rifle.

I agree, I suspect it is a converted military rifle though I've not closely compared proofing between my contracted military gun and the Higgins I have that was built on a commercial FN action. My 50s commercial action does not have a stripper clip guide cut in the receiver; can't comment on the barrel as it was not made by FN. Does look like it was done well though, the checkering on the bolt handle is comparable in quality/look to my factory sporter, and that is a nice trigger guard they put on.
