Hi All,
In Winchester stocks, how would I know which stock to look for, long or short channel, for a Winchester receiver I just acquired?
I thank all you experts out there.

It would be import to know the serial number or at least the first few numbers.
Sure, no problem, I'm not a number hider 2,348,148 May of 1944
Canfield's book "the M1 Garand Rifle" states that Winchester used the long channel stock until approximately serial number 2,350,000
You could use either short or long channel as you are in the overlap period
Thank you very much for your research and answer.
It's appreciated
