Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on running a 158gn .358 cast through a .356 sizer and loading it for some slow heavy plinkers in a 9mm Largo destroyer carbine? Just brainstorming for now. Bad Idea or safely doable?

I've loaded lead 158 RN commercial bullets and fired them through a 9x19mm pistol. Start with starting loads and don't go for a speed record. The couple of thousandths over size will swage right down in the barrel.
Do not start somewhere near the top; begin low. Do not, after working up a load with lead, switch to the same weight jacketed bullet.
The only real problem with the larger diameter bullets is sometimes a combination of tight chamber and thick walled cases can cause chambering problems.
9mm Largo Destroyer carbine? I should think that would not be a problem with the procedure above. Some of the 9mm Largo pistols could have slide battering problems. A bolt gun should not with light end loads. I looked at the linked page for load testing and noted the arm tested was a Star pistol. I would not push the pressure limits with the carbine, but the non moving action should not suffer any.
If you cannot find data for the 9mm Largo with a 158 grain bullet, the standard .38 Auto (NOT Super .38 Auto) will more than likely be suitable. Start low. If you can find a 45th Edition Lyman loading manual, it has data for 158 grain RNL bullets in the .38 Auto.
And, as usual, if you blow yourself up I was in Cleveland that weekend.
