1917 RSAF Enfield SMLE
Been away from the Lee Enfields too long, so when I saw this one, had to jump on it. It's pretty 'original', all matching down to the number on the bottom of the forestock. Great bore. 'FR' on the buttstock, no import marks (a plus here) Very curious about the 'F 10' markings that are all over it...inside the nosecap, on the triggerguard, under the rear sight, on the bottom of the receiver, and under the bolt handle. Have a look!

I'd do a thorough cleanup but that would be all.

Very nice looking example, as Jim said, just needs some love, looks like it's been sat at at the back of a gun safe for years.
Light oil up, good bore clean and that dry woodwork is screaming for some raw linseed oil.
-
Very nice looking rifle. Bit of the TLC and it will come up a treat.

I would guess the FR on the butt is Factory Repair, but the F10 marked on everything is interesting, is this a Factory Repair inspectors mark??
-
Yep, just got her..it'll get a light cleaning.
The F 10 is a total mystery.
-
Curious too, how's the bore? I know for a collector, many don't really care. I'm not one of those. I prefer shine...
-
Bore is really good.....interestingly enough, while the receiver was built in 1917, the barrel is dated 1916.

Oh, almost forgot...the Parker Hale oil bottle in the buttstock was a nice bonus.
