I came into a box of 500 115 grn cast bullets for the .30 carbine recently. These are non-gas checked, so I suspect I will have to keep velocities down to about 1200 fps. Does anyone have a load for cast bullets for the .30 carbine?
Thanks

I use around 13.0 gr of IMR4227. Works well in my carbines with no check bullets from 115 gr up to 130 gr. I haven't had any leading problems with that load. I cast them fairly hard and keep the velocities moderate (up to 1500 fps).
I have used 13.0 grains of H4227 behind a 120 grain hard cast plain base bullet with good luck in the 30 carbine. No leading and good accuracy and functional reliability.:)
H4227 is no longer being made so I now use 12.0 grains of 2400.:dunno:
I get functional reliability and no leading but have yet to test this new load at 200 yards.
My plain base cast bullets weigh in at 100 grains, and I am using 12.5gr of 2400 and 14.0gr of H4227.

Thanks fellows...
Just the kind of data I needed.
