I was going to load some .303 British.
According to the Lyman 49th Edition on Page 249:
150 Gr SP
Primer: Fed 210
H4895 Start Load 38 GR @ 2254 FPS
Maximum 42 GR @2650 FPS
Hornady 9th Edition Page 516 :
150 GR SP
Primer: Win WLR
H4895 Start load 29.9 GR @2200 FPS
Maximum 38.9 GR @ 2600 FPS
Please tell me..... Does the primer make that much difference or is there something else that I'm not aware of!

Primer does make a difference, but mostly it's their machinery. I wouldn't worry, you're going to follow a written loading from a reputable company and then cronograph it yourself to find out where you are with your own rifle. Right? That won't look like the info published either. Of course when you start at the bottom of the loads listed and work up, it will look different too, won't it?
I wouldn't get to wrapped up, it's all good info.
Nick Harvey's book has the same as the 1st but ADI's has 06H (4895) at 38 - 42 max also a rule of thumb I use if using a Mag primer is to drop the load I am using by 1 grain
Bullets can alter pressure as well even though they are the same weight they may be from different manufacturers one may be ok at that seating depth but the other may not giving you a spike in pressure.
And when reloading or developing a load change only one thing at a time that way you find what works for that rifle if you say change the load, the primer, powder type and jump you will not get a clear indication of what works for that particular rifles.
I akin it to keeping the wife or girlfriend happy is it is a fine line that pleases them but a great train wreck (accuracy wise) if you fool around too much sorta chasing your tail trying to find out what works.
As always start low and work up in .2 of a grain and shoot 3 shot groups 5 shotters are a thing of the past as if it isn't grouping putting another 2 shots in there is just ditching money we all shoot 3 shotters when developing loads as you must get your technique right. Have fun.
I use 46gns AR 2209 (Hog 4350, H414, IMR 4350), 174gn SMK, RP case, Fed 210 Match primer for all the small fleet I have and it works, last Nov '16 I took out the Invitational multi range 300, 200, 100M multi position "As Issued" with my No.1 shooter Savage No.4 at the SASR range in Perth so the load works for me.
For the few Lee Enfields we use I find very good accuracy with 39.5 gr of RX15 with a CCI 200 primer and a 174gr Sierra Match King HPBT.
We have never chronied that load so no idea on velocity but no signs of pressure.
I use that load in the No4 Savage and a BSA, I know countless say you can't get accuracy with a BT so maybe it is all LUCK.
Also loaded some 150 gr SP with 39 gr of 3031 and it chronied a average of 2626 fps with max difference high to low of 28 fps.

I would recommend that you collect 5 to 7 manuals. Throw out the high data and low data manuals. Use data from the 3 manuals that are close together in the middle.

Most of us here have 0000's rounds of reloading of all different calibers the combinations are limited only by your imagination and wallet but always start on the low side never go the max straight up as that is courting disaster.
I just checked the reloaded round count I have shot just in my 6.5 x 284 alone in the 4 years I have had it and it stands at 4,102, my 303's I do not do round counts nor my other F standard 308. (I lied I round count my .303 Sniper T for obvious reasons.)
