Here's a pair that would be educational side-by-side: The First 80 or The Model Shop Guns built 1933-35 and the first mass production serial built 1937. 81 was not the first gun finished because it reportedly failed its test firings, the first gun actually completed was #87.

Actually, #80 is mine and the photo of 80 and 81 in the SANHS files was taken by me way back when.
