Bros,
It certainly looks authentic and 100% L42A1 with correct numbering alround and what looks like, with the limited access to the photos presented, or actually inspecting her in my hands, the real deal.
I would like to think I have a fairly sound knowledge on this breed, and I would certainly go for it if I wanted a piece of British Sniper history as my privately owned rifle.
These rifles are going up every day.............my advice go for it if thats worth anything to you.;)
Bros,
Hope you got it for the price sold, which is when converted to GBP £7452.54.
If not, someone was lucky and got a good buy at that price with the chest and tin, as it went into circulation after conversion in 1975 totally authentic
Hi Gil
Well not to disappoint you but I did not get the L42. I stopped at $6000us!!!! In the last few minutes it went to $9325us. I have to calculate in the exchange, border fees, shipping, etc., etc. I figure landed at my door I would have about $13,000can into it. That seems way to steep for the market here. Now if that chest was filled with all the proper goodies it might be a different story. That was a beautiful looking gun though.
Cheers.
Bros,
Totally understand that. Guns to enthusiasts, are like classic car collectors, you sometimes have to speculate to accumulate. Fully chested up here that rifle would have probably hit the final asking price anyway. Maybe next time you might know the guy whose selling.;)
