[Help] which gloves and eyewear should I pick ?
Hello gentlewomen and gentlemen. Let me explain my situation : (and forgive me about the grammar mistakes I might make in the future, I'm not an English native speaker)
I'm a 18 Frenchman and next July, I will join the French army reserve and, when I have my degree, I join the regular army for a 5 years contract. This should give me a preview of he military life. The fact is : I heard that it is very very important to protect your hands and eyes. I'm not a fool, I don't want my eyes or hands to be injured. And, I want to be always at my best to complete the missions that will be assigned to me. I don't want the sun, dust or sand to bother my vision, and same for my hands.
So I need some help to choose my eyewear and my gloves. I hope there is people here that are soldiers, veterans from different armies around the world or simply amateurs who know a lot more than me about military gear and who have experienced different products and brands.
No need to bother about the size, I will handle this on my own once I know which model I choose. However, about the budget, I'd prefer under 150€ for the eyewear and under 100€ for the gloves.
For the eyewear, I was thinking about the crossbow tactical glasses from ESS. Are they great ? I precise that I'm opened about any other alternative like goggles.
Something you need to know : I will have to wear correction glasses or contact lens (by the way which of them is more adapted to the military life ?), So I need my eyewear to be compatible with my eye correction. And for those who also wear eye correction, what is your choice and why ?
For the glasses lens, the weather in France can be a very low light and cloudy (whenever in the year) but also an heavy bright sun (but only in summer) and obviously medium luminosity most of the time. So I think I will need smoked lens in order to not being bothered by the sun, but also yellow, copper or clear lens for the cloudy days.
For the gloves, I think I won't need heavy protected or fireproof gloves. Dexterity will be the most important factor. I was thinking about the SI Assault Gloves from Oakley.
Thanks a lot for all answers and advices you will give to me, any information will be well received !
Also, I'm not sure if this website is the most appropriate for that kind of thread, if it's not, please tell me where I should go to get answers. Thank you again, have a nice day !
