We are supposed to be in a depression but gun stores are crowded,CMP is backed up by three months, employees working 12/7 and ammo is in short supply. Maybe us "gun nuts" are not so stupid as to be unempolyed.

Was told that our january gun show in SW Missouri had about 10,000 folks trying to get in the door on the opening Saturday. Normally a wonderful day for them is around 4000. the police came and restricted the entrance until others left. I attended on sunday afternoon and did not experience that kind of panic. Vendors tell me that everyone is buying ammo as fast as it hits the door.
I am not sure what it all means. Panic, depression, fearfful of a new administration in Washington, etc??? Heard the new attorney general say he wants to ban all assult rifles. Guess that may be some of it.
I went to our local gun show today. It was a bit was less crowded than the gun/outdoor show of a couple of weeks ago, probably because of the rain. People were buying guns left and right, and I did my part to support the firearms industry by buying another CAS gun, a Cimarron Model P in .45 Colt with 7.5 inch barrel.
The cheapest Garand I saw there was $870, and the cheapest '03's and '03A3's were $800 each. Not a carbine to be seen anywhere, however. One guy had Wolf (Russkie) primers at $30 per K, but I passed because I knew nothing about their reliability.
I was by my local gunshop this week and the owner said he would be loving it if he could get enough stock in to sell, guns or ammo. He's making money off of what he does sell, just doesn't have enough volumn.
Our local gunstore has been doing a large volume of $$$. We are living in interesting times.

And the gun show this weekend had a line two blocks long to get in. All I bought was a solar cell flashlight for $20
Only ONE table had anything interesting. The rest was new handguns, black rifles, AR15 accessories, and HIGH PRICED antiques. As usual, the ammo dealers were mobbed.
While I waited for my wife to get off work, I visited the "sporting goods" @ wally world. Ammo was non-existent compared to three day's ago. I picked up the last 500 rds of CCI Mini-Mag.
