Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum, based in the UK and have a stupid question!
The magazine depressors / single shot adaptors for the P14 and M1917, are they the same for both rifles? i have a 1917 and have been offered one for a P14 and suspect it wont fit properly but can't be sure.

Welcome to the Forum. No such thing as a stupid question because what's obvious to one person is not always so to another. I believe that they are slightly different with the M1917 mag depressor being about 1/2" longer. Although only a militaria collector and not a shooter I do have a U.K. deactivated P14 and I also have a spare mag depressor which I believe to be for a M1917 because it has the eagle mark on the underside. I have just compared the 2 mag depressors.

For what it is worth, depressors will be found with three makers, R, E, and A. Remington, Eddystone and Winchester. Winchester used a subcontractor.
Just be careful if you use it for a single shot adapter. These rifles were made to pick up the rim out of the magazine. I was told by two different people that snapping the extractor over the rim in the chamber may lead to damage. The extractors are getting hard to find so I stopped using mine for SSA. They were made for present arms drill and dry fire. I have one for my M1917 and when I find it I will report on the manufacturer.

Hi Dave, thanks for the heads up.
Its not something i'm too worried about on this particular rifle as it was converted to a target rifle back in the 70's (do conversions by Fultons count as bubbered?)
The magazine box is gone, the bolt hold open was re-profiled as was the extractor so it will slip over the rim of hand fed cartridges, i was thinking about the depressor just to make it all smoother.
