The recession is over
Obama has said so, it was like the sun coming up over the mountain, and melting the frost down in the valley. I admit that I was skeptical, but after checking network news, and the press for plant closings, layoffs, or new unemployment claims, the chosen one is right. Lets all sing Happy Days are Here Again and praise Obama.

I saw this statement from the Annointed One and was surprised to find out
the recession was over. I was looking to forward to getting a new heavily
discounted F150 in June, WTH. I somehow doubt anyone being laid of next week
will believe it's all said and done.

yeh, he wouldn't take blame for the falling stock market ('I don't pay attention to the day to day change---'), now its up for 3-5 days and he grabs it as his doing! Phony Bastar&!

I sure hope that it's over, I just got the word on friday that I will be laid off in the next couple of weeks if we don't have a bunch of unexpected work come in.
-
I fear the recession will only be over once the "Great Obama Depression" begins!:crying:

I hope that unexpected work comes in. As for myself I'm like Arms above in that I plan on upgrading my pickup before my money becomes worthless.

EDF,
Its tough isn't it?! I live in So Cal and work in an arena hurt in the recession, landscaping. Each week has been a challenge, but something shows up albeit at the last minute.
I'm trying to live in daytight compartments...
Just put my gun club membership on inactive status and when I can go shoot XTC, I can just pay the guest rate for a time.
I think our lefty president (like the pun?) has been so long on the trail that he's forgotten that backseat driving no longer works in the front seat.:bitch:
best,

Howdy EDF,
I was laid off from my employer 2/18/2009. It had been my ONLY job after college (11+ years). There were other "issues" there at my employer besides the economy, but the economy broke the back of this company IMHO. I was pretty down today, then I got my 1st call for a phone interview after sending out 28 resumes (I try to send out 2 per day.) I don't have a job (yet) but this has been the 1st POSITIVE sign since I was let go.....Jeeeez! Since last month (shudder).
Since you've been given notice, get the resume together now. Hit Monster.com, CareerBuilder.com, OhioMeansJobs.com (if you want jobs in Ohio), use Google, Yahoo, and every means at your disposal to get yourself outta the situation you're in. Hit the job fairs, they're all not just for college grads. Get some "face" time in front of potential employers at the fairs.
Your new "job" is to find a job, unfortunately. Keep in mind you're not the only one affected by the Wall Street shenanigans, I'm one too.....I'm sure there's more out there on this board than they openly care to admit.....Good Luck.
BTW, I don't think anyone here would frown upon you shamelessly promting your skills here. What do (did?) you do?
