M73B1 component question

I was looking at a schematic for the M73B1 scope.

It refers to: "gaskets", "shims" and "diaphragms"

Can anyone tell me what material each of these are made from?

The 03A4 I bought through the DCM in 1971 came with brass shims under the front of the Redfield one piece scope mount base.

Actually I was referring to internal components of the scope, not the shims that are installed under the base. Thanks though.

Per TM9-1603 Ordnance Maintenance Direct Sighting Telescopes.....

Gaskets are described as made from "Black Manila Paper" or "Pressboard".

I believe the diaphragms are a part of the optical system and have a narrower, smaller central opening. I would suspect both of them are made from metal. But the manual doesn't mention the material.

The "shims" apparently are used as needed to adjust the optical quality of the scope. They have at least three different part numbers implying different thicknesses. Again no mention is made of the material. Perhaps paper or a thin card stock.

Well, I got brave (or stupid) and decided to attempt a minor internal repair myself.

Actually worked out well. Turns out that the "diaphragm" is either copper or a copper alloy.

Great! any idea what the shims were made from?

Some type of paper, hard to say the original color due to oil/dirt staining.
