New additions: Mosin Nagant M44 and 91/30

Went to the gunshop with a buddy who was buying a 1903 Springfield and the owner who knows I love old things walked out from the back with a mostly complete M44 and a 91/30 barreled receiver.

I walked out of the store with a Mosin Nagant M44 for $100.00 Missing magazine floor plate, spring follower assm. and the bayonet.

and the 91/30 Barreled receiver for $25.00 missing allot but I just happened to have most of the parts including a stock The only thing I will need is a complete bolt to make it back into a shooter.

I seem to get great deals from him. He's got a 30-40 Krag I'm waiting for him to give me a price. About 5 months ago I picked up a Chinese T53 Mosin Nagant complete for $100.00 really good condition, no pitting, and clean bore. I gave it to a buddy as a gift because I had been looking for one to add to his Mosin collection. I've been eyeing another M1903 Springfield barreled receiver. Waiting until he gets tired of waiting for someone to buy it and lowers his asking price LOL.

I had a gun store like that where I used to live. Sort of “how much to let me take that thing off your hands?” Kind of place. I miss that!

Shooter grade I would guess; blue has normal for its age, bore is bright and strong, furniture is dinged up and could use a good cleaning and BLO.

They’re great guns...I personally think they’re undervalued currently. I guess they’re sort of the “bastard child” of US military arms. I really anticipate the market to correct sooner rather than later.
Kind of like the Nagants did, really. 5 or 6 years ago they weren’t thought of as anything special — yeah, import restrictions and actual supply droughts have something to do with it but I also think people have simply realized they’re a neat gun with neat history that fires a capable round.

I've more Nagant's than I really should have. They seem to be falling out of the sky lately and I've scored a lot of deals. Even picked up an Izzy 1936 Spanish Civil War all correct and matching for $250.00 free shipping that I really didn't need. LOL
