I'm thinking BAR for the bottom and as the top one is similar in dimensions and corroded condition, I'm guessing an early BAR variant.
It is no secret that the Mk2 Bren cocking handle was a direct copy/cheat from the BAR. That is recorded in the papers relating to it.

It is the H&R T-48 cocking handle, some 500 H&R T-48's were manufactured and tested, non were heavy barrels and not all were selective fire. Why this type of cocking handle design was selected is unknown.
Both the FN T.48 and the US High Standard T48 used the FN designAttachment 88744Attachment 88745
I have to admit I'm not seeing it. The photos of the T48 show an FN type knob but the two at the start look completely different.
The photos show the early FN cocking handle, as too why the H&R used a different design is unknown, as all the cocking handles were patterned after the FN type
