knock off or real?
Looks original to me
I think so too...looks good.
Most of the current fake stocks have the "Made in Canada" and SAL 1944/45 markings.
Many real stocks do not have either the "SAL" or "MiC" of markings either.
Like yours, I have seen a number of original stocks without the "made In Canada" stamping, and sometimes when it is present it's location can differ as well.
None of the fake stocks have the oval inspectors marking shown in your first picture.
...yet...
Looks good to me.
I have four of them in my collection. Yours is correct and original. Only thing that is missing is the Canvas belt attachment loop.
I have several of the loops for sale and one stock as well. ALL original.
Thanks
Amazing condition, I would assume many of these were un-issued?
None of the repro's I have seen have had the flannel patch at the muzzle end inside of the stock holster.
The first repro's were a bit rough but they have gotten better and none have had the oval inspectors mark....so far.
The quality of the wood, metal work and the rivets is also a clue.
The nice red hue of the walnut is hard to reproduce with stain as is the quality of the inletting.
It sure looks kosher to me....
