Hi,
I'm looking at this sight on Gunbroker.com and I was after confirmation that it is a Parker Hale sight for a P14.

P14 uses a PH 5B sight, I can't maske out the number on the one for sale, you might have better eyes than me.

iHanso,
Confirmed it certainly is;)
Thanks Gil
I don‘t think it would fit a P.14. The bases on my PH5B sights look different.
Promo,
Agree there, this was setup for an Enfield by the look of it.
The sight looks like an early Parker Hale 5B that was modified for a No.4 MKI Lee Enfield Rifle using a PH number 38 base. You can see on the back where the sight was modified for clearance for the safety where there is a partial removal of the stamped name. Probably it was easier to machine the rear sight and fit a new No 38 sight base than to purchase completely new rear sight. Just my .02 cents.

Can I remove the No.38 base and then use the 5B sight on a P14?
iHanso--
Unfortunately no. The mounting part for the P14/PH5B is internal to the mount itself. Unless you can figure out how to made a new base that fits what is left of the sight mount. It would probably be easier just to keep looking for a complete PH5B. You want to make sure the axis screw for the mount is with the sight went you buy it and the threads have not been stripped out. Otherwise you will be on another search for an axis screw. The rear sight axis screw that is on the P14/M1917 is too short! Been there done that!! LOL

It will be for sure much cheaper to buy a complete PH5B rather than re-engineer this mount back to PH5B configuration.
