G'day there. I just have another few markings I curious about on my old BSA.
The "BJC" and the "B" on the sight bed I have no idea on. The "HV" "SC" on the barrel I know, but why is there a "JJCO" and "AI" stamped over the top of them?

HV = High Velocity can use MK VII, Small Cone = Small Cone in the chamber has been increased .002-inch, JJCO are the firm that imported the weapon into the USA so its been around that one.
JC = manufacturing contractor of the sight base?
I have seen JC marked on the back land of receivers and on the underside of bolt handles.
Parts that are castings?
I believe that JJCO is the stamp for John Jovinco who bought up a lot of the Lithgow stock when they closed the Lee Enfield production.
My Lithgow no2MkIV* has the same stamp; just in a different spot (RH REAR OF RECEIVER)
Wait so this John Jovinco fellow, the name seems familiar, he brought a lot of lithgow stuff to america right? Or did he also get it sent elsewhere? If it was on the sight bed I would be thinking that maybe it was a replacement part sourced from the US after he had imported it, but on the barrel? Seems a bit far fetched that the rifle served and then was sold, then JJCO imported it to the US, and then it came back here?
Also englishman, I'll have to check my Lee Enfield book for contractors that might have those initials, maybe check the rest of the rifle for 'JC' as well.
Same initials but not in metal.
There was a John Curtis contractor who supplied LE wood sets.
