Lee Enfield numbering
The books by Charles R. Stratton (Vol. 1 for SMLE, Vol. 2 for No. 4 and No. 5) provide lists of plausible number ranges. Stratton (now deceased) was careful to write "observed numbers" and not to claim that they were 100% definitive. So if someone comes up with the trivial remark (and I have read such remarks in the past) that the books have mistakes, such comments are a) unfair and b) not helpful, unless the contributor provides the extended information for the benefit of us all. There are undoubtedly additions to be made to Stratton's lists, but I do not know of a fresh compilation.
