US Model of 1917 lend leased to Canada in WWII.

This rifle has an interesting history as the forestock has a red painted band indicating the rifle is in non-standard caliber, .30-06. The buttstock flat is marked broad arrow RCAF indicating issue to the Royal Canadian Air Force. The numbers painted on the stock may indicate additional use by India.

I had one that had Canada Broad Arrow on it, and then all the hallmarks of Danish service and imported back into the US.

Went to a guy with Danish heritage.

India? Thats very interesting and unknown to me, and not generally published.
Can you expound on that a bit with markings etc?

There are no definite Indian markings other than the two different color two digit numbers on the buttstock flat. The markings are similar to other rifles that I have that have a definite Indian history. I am totally open to it not being Indian but the numbering is odd.
