Hello,
I am helping a friend of mine sort out some M1 Carbine parts that he is looking to get rid of. I came across a magazine stamped KI over M2 and AI or M2. Can any carbine experts verify these magazines?

Here's a site for 30s... M1 / M2 Carbine Magazine FAQ
The "KI" should be Keeler Brass for Inland, and the "AI" is Autoyre for Inland. The 30 rounders shown are pretty rare and valuable. - Bob
Thanks for the reply's.
@USGI I did find some info a few minutes ago that they are rare, but nothing on value.
Do you know of any place that I can search? My friend does shoot any more so he may be looking to sell them.
I see at least one each there of the the "split-back" and "hard-back" types. One has the welded seam and the other doesn't - it's all one piece with no welds. The split-back type has been faked, and often I've seen the fakes sold for $50 or more on eBay and other auction sites. Try the search feature on this forum and you should be able to find more info about these mags. You should be able to find plenty on values with an Internet search using wording such as "30 round Hardback" or similar. Hardbacks can easily be worth $100. Good luck! - Bob
About the same in my area, $60-$65 for a real split back, $90-$100 for a hardback.

I have some better pictures
So after some research and taking better pictures I want to confirm that I am correct.
Below is the "split back" magazine stamped AI over M2 (stacked) with the hold open follower. It has a front roll crimp as shown in picture 4. Am I correct in saying with all that said they are not a fake? I do not want to inaccurately call something authentic when it could be a fake. Thank you for your help.

This set of pictures is the KI over M2 (stacked) It is a hardback that does not have a hold open follower. Based on the link posted by new2brass (thank you) it states the KI over M2 should be judge on a case by case basis. Am I missing anything else to confirm that this magazine is authentic? and not a fake? Thanks again for all your help.
