What is the best case material to preserve antique bluing?

I would like to gauge everyone's opinion on the best type of material/case that can contain firearms with antique bluing, without blemishing. Here are some examples of materials: Leather, nylon, gun case foam, etc. I am aware that keeping a firearm oiled is the best way to prevent bluing loss. There are some materials I have seen that will still cause corrosion regardless of oiling; such as felt.

In summary, I have a Colt 1908 Vest Pocket Pistol that has absolute perfect bluing. I want to store it in a small handgun case in which I can keep the Colt oiled and preserved.

Any suggestions?

To start with the common consensus is not to store them in a case. That will hold moisture to the metal and promote rust. I've had to cut and tear cases off firearms to remove them.

Like browningautorifle says, no case. Lotta cases will not only hold moisture, but will attract it. However, it's not the material that causes corrosion. It's the lack of ventilation. Cases are not for storage.
You won't be losing bluing either. You'll be losing steel as it returns to its natural form and rusts.

I had a real minty Smith and Wesson 36. An early one. Too minty for my tastes so it's gone now.

But anyway, I removed the grips, soaked it in oil, wrapped it in an oil soaked (I mean dripping) rag an put in an airtight tupperware container. One of those ones with the hinged snaps.
Stayed that way for a few years at least. When I took it out, it was still dripping in oil.

If you don't intend to be playing with it regularly, cosmoline is your friend. Store it encased in that and within a container like I used and you'll never have to worry about it again.

Wonder how you would go wrapping a firearm up in denso-tape that stuff is great at preventing rust but like anti-sneeze a small bit ends up plastered all over oneself
