The German soldiers used to say that you could identify the aircraft by the colors. If the planes were blue...they were British, silver... American, invisible...Luftwaffe!

They are M36 Tank Destroyers. Ran into them again in the former Yugoslavia along with M18 Hellcats and a few other types.
