I'm trying to identify the maker of this 5-pocket khaki cloth bandolier, which is marked on the strap over "JAN / 1943". I'm also trying to figure out the 2 letter before "Mk VII". This came in the transit case for a No. 4 Mk 1 (T).

Dont quote me on this but I think someone long ago here said if you dampen the area in question with water it can make the indistinct lettering stand out obviously you do not drown it just dab some water on the area with the corner of a wet sponge. I think I heard that here or maybe it was elsewhere :dunno:

On this site I can see that it is "Dominion of Canada" bandolier. It is also filled with 50 rounds of DAC 44 .303 British ammo in 5 round clips. DAC is Dominion Arsenal Quebec, so that makes sense.
The bandolier appears to be Canadian made by 'The American Pad and Textile Co.' since it has single row stitching between the pockets, and what appears to be 'TAPAT CO JAN 1943' would be an abbreviated version of the sling stamping seen here: Guide to British Empire .303 Bandoliers
Yes - you are correct. It appears to be a complete original bandoleer. All of the ammo has the same head stamp with a Canadian bandolier. Thanks.
