Military Uniform but i have no knowledge

Hello I found a military uniform in our barn, i have no knowledge of its authenticity or what branch of military, or war era. Any information would be great.
The long coat buttons have Horstmann Philadelphia on them.
The long sleeve shirt buttons have Newark mfg. co. (sorry pictures were bad)
There was a strap with the emblem private stock on it. do not know if it is a part of the outfit was in the chest with the rest.
Dont know if the hat, ankle wraps, or belt is a whole part of it.

So for any type of military clothing the first thing that I look for is "official labelling" and, as may be expected, this can normally be found on the inside of the garment. Are there any labels on your items that we can't see in the pictures?

As an example I have a US leather flying jacket which I know to be genuine. Inside is a label which says "US Army" which suggests to me that my flying jacket is pre 1947.

Looks to me like an overcoat for a Staff Sergeant of the Quartermasters Corps. With his campaign hat and gaiters, would be from around WW1 era up to 1930s. Webbed belt is from that era and later, the leather belt looks like a razor strop though for cleaning a straight razor. Quartermasters are basically responsible for supply.

I didnt see any lableing or tags on the inside anywhere. Where can i locate any tags or labels?

Would this be worth anything or should it be something i put in a garage sale?

It’s an original WWI era US Quartermaster Corp uniform,rather complete as well. Staff sergeant chevrons.

I would have expected to find the labelling on the inside of the jacket etc but if you can't find any, perhaps, they have come off through use or someone has removed them at some time, for some reason.

Personally I wouldn't attempt to sell these in a garage or yard type sale because you would probably be inundated with people expecting to buy them for next to nothing. You could try sending photos to militaria dealers and asking if they are interested, you could try here in the "want to sell" section or you could try eBay (auction rather than buy it now). Remember, when you are trying to sell something that you don't know the value of, it's always better to make the mistake of over pricing the item, because you can reduce the price, rather than making the mistake of under pricing the item. I've yet to hear of a good excuse to increase the price when you realise that the item you are selling is under priced and you have someone expecting to buy it.

Agree with above, inventory it and make photos, check pockets, etc. Then after you look at auctions, you'll have better and more useful (for you) questions!

I would go to a minimum of 3 dealers if I was asking if they were interested in an item that maybe for sale. Obvious, but worth bearing in mind, a dealer is going to offer significantly less than they would intend to sell an item for which is not an unreasonable thing for the dealer to do because a dealer has numerous overheads to pay for and they do not normally operate as a charity.

Look inside the pockets, many US uniforms had the labels inside the pockets, although I can't remember now if the 1902 Pattern did or not.

And yes, WW1 era original uniforms are worth decent money if not mothed, so please no garage sale, sell to a militaria dealer.
