Info request on a Long Branch markings

I am considering buying this rifle, I had a friend send me a few pictures of it from a shop he works at, I would like to know what the N.Z. engraved on top of the breech stands for? Is this for New Zealand? Please take a look at the pictures and tell me what you think of it , the gun is on consignment and owner is asking $675.00 for it, it looks in great shape, bore is mirror bright. Any information would be greatly appreciated and if the price is fair or not?

Looks like Long Branch New Zealand rework to me. If that is $675USD it is too much IMO.

It is not a NZ rework that is their ownership stamp and inventory number. The price is fair for here.

Huh I always thought they were all reworked

It should be a late '42 and NZ marked the butt really nice as well. Big NZ stamp on the left middle of the butt.
I haven't seen the NZ ownership acceptance number marked in pencil on the top of the receiver before...not saying it hasn't been done.
If the bore looks as good as the rest of it...in Canada it's a $900 rifle at a well turned out show, maybe more right now.

I ended up purchasing the rifle today, my buddy said the condition looks like it's been unfired, all the screws look unturned, bore is mirror bright, I have seen crap guns sell for more, figured for the price I picked it up for I couldn't go wrong and it fills a void in my collection here are a few more pictures.
