Interesting- looks like Polish mod of an M1891 Nagant using a couple Mauser parts as well. The Poles did have their own Mauser 98 version. I suspect this one was once chambered for 7.62x54, but with the 793 on the barrel, it just may have been rebarrelled.
That's it!!! I knew it was an odd rare bird. Found some good reading here.
