The wife and I decided we really don't need presents and such so decided to treat ourselves to some Marron a fresh water shell fish brought local at a Marron Farm.
They are yummo almost as good as Blue Manna crabs so we are having them tonight for tea and lunch tomorrow just the wife and I.
Fresh bread & garlic butter, malt vinegar some salt and pepper to taste (I cooked them in salty water) with some salad and there you go a happy camper.

You could say that Clarkie they are a fresh water crustacean that can grow up to 300mm+ long usually called a moss back due to their age they are in between a cray fish and blue swimmer crab for texture and taste the tails are nice when still warm on fresh buttered bread with a bit of pepper infused malt vinegar. But the sweetest meat is held in their nippers they are awesome I suppose they are like the USA's crawfish but bigger.
Catching them is highly restricted and kept to 1 month per year and very small bag limits if you get caught by fisheries out of season you can lose all your gear including your vehicle you can use nets but some place are snare only as that requires a good deal of skill sorta like how you catch crayfish with a snare Australia probably exports them see if you can source a couple to eat they may be a tad expensive the 4.2 Kilos we brought was $180/Au and that's from a local seller not 4 minutes from my front door.
He had to give me a declaration form I had brought the Marron from his hatchery so if stopped by the police (Honorary fisheries) or the fisheries I had proof I had brought them legally and not poached them from a farmers dam or river.....
