Came across this one on a gun auction website today! It was just too good to not share! I had no idea they were making Lee-Enfields in 1002!

Absolutely wonderful!
Always loved the hand made rifles, wish I'd picked up one when the "demilled" ones were $70 at numrich.
I really do need to pick one up someday. Waiting for an interesting one to come along.
One a visit to the Pattern Room, Herb Woodend showed me a beautiful No.1 Mk1 that was absolutely perfect. He was totally happy with it as they had bought it at auction using their limited discretionary fund. It was all Dara and the only tip off was the little screw on the top of the windage adjustable rear sight was a fake that was engraved on the sight.
I'd love to have a selection of those, I believe they need to be in a collection to have it complete. Highest form of praise is imitation... That one is probably do far out to lunch but if it appeared in a "Gun shop" or bazaar I'd have it and worry about how to import with the military authority after. I'd get it done...
I believe that the date, in this case, refers to the technology used to produce it.
A few others to add into the mix :
Armorer's dream...
