ENFIELD .45acp

Has anyone seen or had an ENFIELD .45acp? I was wondering around the net and found a site that sells these 45acp conversions for the Enfield rifles, these fit the No1, No4, No5, and Indian versions.

Since I have two No4 Indian barreled receivers and a bunch of parts I was thinking about building one of these; looked like an interesting build.

I looked at this project a while back. I thought I remembered that the two sources for the kits had discontinued them. Perhaps I need to revisit the idea as I have a sportered No 4 that would make an ideal starting point.

Pretty hard to beat at that price!
I recently won a lot of Enfield stuff someone was working on at auction. Looks like this may have been their plan eventually...just a different method.

Here is a current link. Rhineland Arms etsablished 1999 price up to $180 but still seems doable.

The extractor, bolt face, and ejector will need considerable modification to ensure reliable operation.

And don't forget a good solid integral suppressor design for it .

The Delisle is my holy grail. Retro cool in its purest form. Sentry suppression. Perhaps the closest thing to the movie version of a "silencer sound".

Interesting. I have a synthetic stock lying around here somewhere and a barreled receiver or two. May have to do some digging this weekend to see what I can come up with.

We did a couple here years ago with .45 barrel blanks and machined to spec. We used short throw bolts and one was single shot, the other a mag fed from 1911 mags. Both worked just great with existing bolt face and ejector screw. To make it suppressed is pretty simple from there, the bullet is already sub sonic...

$180.00 still seems like a good price for a cool little project rifle.
