Hi all,
I've encountered some bayonets one of which i may be interested in pursuing and would like to ask your opinions on them, the distance and my situation at the moment make travel to inspect in person any time soon impossible so all i have are these photographs, said to be Finnish m39 bayonets, something i haven't had any contact with myself nor ever expected too.

One of the most heavily faked bayonets out there. Impossible to give a good opinion without seeing closeups of the markings. I think they also had a reissue of these which are worth more than repros but not as much as originals. Considering they sell between $400-$600 with Repros bringing $200, a hard call from just photos.
I can tell you for sure if they are legit with better photos of markings. As previous poster stated they are one of the most faked Bayonets out there. The reissue is clearly marked as such. It is dated 1999 on the Ricasso and was commissioned by Doug Bowser.
They are not a rare bayonet. In fact they are the 3rd most common Finnish Bayonet. However the demand is high because there were 110,000+ M39 rifles made, but only 10,000 M/39 Bayonets made, of which 8,200 survived. Everyone wants a M/39 bayonet for their M/39 rifle, but they are only correct for M/39 Sky Rifles. VKT and SAKO M/39 the correct bayonet would be M/27, M/29, or M/35 Army Bayonets for Army Rifle. M/39 Bayonets are Civil Guard Bayonets for Civil Guard Rifles.
Seems I have heard that name associated with the crates of M-39s Classic Firearms had a while back. Is my memory correct?Quote:
