11-42 with a type 2 band???!!! I don't think so! I wouldn't touch this one with a 10 ft. pole. Pictures don't tell what needs to be seen. Should have a T1 band. Where are pics of the Winchester proof? I want to see better pics of the band as well. Is it a cut off T3? So few pics..... Not the correct front sight either. :yikes:
Well, it is Patriotic and does have a mint "BOAR" How high will the bids go?? - Bob
As high as those with more Cents then sense will keep bidding. Jimb nailed it completely. At least its a long skirt. lol.
Dated Winchester carbine barrels are pretty rare and there is picture of the WRA proof mark on one of the last pics that looks totally legit. Certainly the seller did themselves no favors in the bits and pieces description, meaning is he saying it's a type 2 barrel or a type 2 barrel band? The bottom line is that despite the errors it's going to sell for some decent money.
I agree about the WP proof, it's there. Where is the W? I would be alert with the ordnance bomb not being on the side of the gas cylinder, it looks like the front sight has been off, so the type 2 might be an add-on.
With the N marked front sight and the fake type 2 band, its plain that this is not worth the money. But the bomb proof normally found on the gas cylinder is on the barrel above the cylinder area. I also think the barrel has been refinished.
