Does anyone repair trigger guard lugs?

I have a number of trigger guards with very worn lugs. I was curious if anyone repaired such.

I would be curious myself if anyone repairs these.....Off the bat I would say they need to be either TIG welded and machined to spec, or the original stud machined down, and a proper diameter sleeve Loctited to it, to assume the original stud's specs...Either way, I would think both studs would have to be finished up with identical outside diameters.......

Just two WAG's , but I'll stay tuned to this thread..

You can grind the lug off, then drill a hole and champfer it. Then you make a stud with a small end, insert the end in the hole and rivet it. Needs to be fitted, of course, but it works fine, with no welding needed. But don't make those studs too hard, as you want them softer than the receiver so they wear rather than wearing the receiver.

I've seen stamped guards that had lugs that looked to be brazed in. Might be able to do something similar.

I've tig welded lots of them for myself and customers , .. takes a bit of craftsmanship to grind them back to near round , but not a big thing .... in fact I'll make them a lil oversize sometimes , to make a loose stock fit tighter .. Cepilot
