SHOULD I BE CONCERNED ABOUT EITHER OF THESE TRIGGERS?

I have a 1943 Long Branch whose trigger, once the rifle is cocked, flops forward and aft about 3/8 inch with no resistance. Once the slack is taken up, the 2-stages work and feel normal. I have a 1941 Long Branch with a trigger that does the same thing, but only moves in the same manner about 1/8 inch. Is there a problem with either trigger?

Nope. That is completely normal for the Lee Enfield trigger. The ones that dont do that are the early long lee metfords and enfields (and cavalry carbines), which have a different trigger/sear shape.

When you slowly retract the bolt and the cocking piece is retracted, watch how it jumps then.
