Enfield Vs Albion Pairing Numbers

I am new to the forum, having recently joined to help research my interest in the Enfield No2 Mk1 revolvers. I noticed from a few previous posts that occasionally the comment comes up on the difference between serial numbers on these revolvers and the interior pairing numbers marked on the sideplate and interior frame. Although often similar, the interior frame and sideplate numbers are paired, and do not match the serial number. I have a number of matching (barrel, cylinder, frame) Enfield revolvers and this holds true.

What I have noticed with the Albion revolvers that I have (currently the count sits at five), is that this is not the case. None of my Albion No 2 MK1** have a pairing number stamped on the interior of the frame. They all have the serial number stamped in the same location as the pairing number on the interior side plate. Simply stated, all five of my Albions, have matching numbers (barrel, frame, cylinder and sideplate).

I am not sure if this is something that Albion did specifically, or came to do as a measure of efficiency, after following the RSAF patern with different pairing numbers initially. My earliest Albion is a late A8XXX series, which although marked Mk1*, has no safety stop or grove for one. Not sure if the earlier examples from Albion follow this same trend or not.

sorry for the long first post, but i thought there might be a couple of the more experienced Enfield revolver experts here. I hadn't seen anything to this effect in the Stamps/Skinnerton book.
