A "Motorbikehome"

The chap seen in this image appears to have resolved the dilemma of owning a motorbike and also wanting to own a caravan but not being in the position to own both at the same time. He has simply combined the two or to put it another way converted his motorbike into a caravan.

I thought that some of my fellow forum members would like to see this photo which I found today while sorting through some things. The feint caption on the back, which is hard to read, states that it is home made and appears to identify the chap as a Mr C. Ensor and I assume that he was connected at some point in time to the caravan manufacturer of the same name. It is identified as 1936.

Unfortunately, I don't have any further information on this image.

I would advise against anyone getting the urge to convert their motorbike into such living accommodation because such combinations probably don't comply with modern highway and road-traffic safety laws and regulations. :nono:

I dig this. As a biker it's often just the side of a road and a sleeping bag.. This is livng in luxury!

In '89 I was coming from East to West from Maine to Washington and stopped at a rest stop for the night. It was Sturgess time of year, so bikes were everywhere. I had a canopy on the truck so was fully set up back there including a jug of Jim Beam hi-test. At about 0500 I awoke and headed into the ablution building to wash up before heading on and see a bike parked there with a guy sleeping ON the picnic table. No gear, no blanket...nothing. As I was washing up he came in and said..."I almost got to sleep there for a minute, then the rain started"... There was a big sign prohibiting sleeping IN the ablution building. That would be a hard day, heading off with no sleep at all. Most guys at least had their bedroll with them.
