eric27 scammer notice!!
I just wanted to bring to everyone's attention the user "eric27" is a scammer. They responded via PM to a WTB inquiry I posted last week for a book (Serial Numbers of U.S. Martial Arms, Vol. 4), and scammed me utilizing Venmo. I should have done my due diligence beforehand, but when I googled the name "eric27" after the fact, it appears they have been scamming on other forums.
The first one that comes up on google is from watchusseek.com
and the rabbit hole continues from there. Apparently they also used the username "bruno73" on the forum longrangehunting.com
and used another name "@john66" to scam another person on snipershide.com
.
On all these forums, the scammer has the same M.O. They are a new forum member with a handful of one sentence posts throughout the forum they are working. They respond to a WTB ad via PM claiming to have what you are searching for and they prefer payment via Venmo. The phone number they used in my case was 1-469-436-0914, and I discovered the photos and description they sent me were from a WTS ad on The CMP forum
. Learn from my mistake and avoid the user "eric27".
