Anyone recognize the soldiers in this photo? Both 3rd Army Engineers, Both Sergeants, one took over for the other when he was killed in action, and then shortly thereafter, he also was killed in action.

cant say i do, but they are a rough looking pair..im sure they got some before the gave it all.

I know the one on the right is a Medal of Honor winner. Not exactly sure of name but think it's Paul R. Smith
The two soldiers in the first photo are:
Task Force 2-7
SGT Linclon Hollinsaid
and
SGT Paul Ray Smith
Paul Smith was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions on 4 April 2003. Paul lost his life that day.
Linclon Hollinsaid took over for Paul as Platoon SGT, but was killed in action himself just 3 days later on 7 Apr 2003.
The gentlemen in the other photo, in the black jacket, and wearing my Corps of Engineer hard hat, is Nick Bacon, Congressional Medal of Honor winner, Vietnam, Aug 1968.
