Interesting Electro Pencil Markings on No4 Mk1(T)

Recently when I was doing some work on my No4 Mk1(T), I removed the trigger guard assembly and I found this Electro Penciled on the bottom of the receiver between the ears for the rear screw. It appears to say "DL WN DAVID JG 535 M.S".
I'm curious if anyone has seen this type of marking of receivers while these rifles were in service or maybe recognizes if this as a military unit, etc.

This rifle was heavily sporterised previously so it could just be from someone who owned it after being surplussed.

Either way, I thought I would share it and see what the group thinks.

I'd say that the las figure was a "5" if that's any help.

Drivers License number - Washington ???

Not that unusual, the serial number doesn't seem to be enough for many to identify a rifle.

Who ever did it made sure it would not be visible unless you removed the trigger guard. There was a bunch of grime covering it so I didn’t see it right away.

That's right...a "Hidden" number. I just shake my head at the guys doing that sort of thing anyway. It doesn't save anything.

Perhaps he was expecting everyone to "remove their trigger guards", so he could inspect, if the rifle was ever stolen just in case the thief had changed or removed the serial number on his rifle.

In past years insurance companies required some sort of personal identifier. like SSN, Drivers Lic#. Haven'
t seen that requirement in recent years though.

Very plausible replies, as this rifle was imported to the US pre ‘68. I’m just happy it’s in a place that won’t take away from its military markings :)
One of these days I’ll get it all together. I’ve got one of Roger’s scopes ready to go on it.
