The scope needs to be installed correctly. Obviously done post military service.
Do you mean it should be moved forward till the adjustment knobs are in front of the front ring? Taking a measurement in the second picture shows this would put the rear ring over top of the threads. I've seen pictures of originals in this kind of configuration - on my own repro with redfield base and split top rings, with repro scope, I can't get it to work. not enough clearance for the locknut. If someone has an original, I'd be curious to see some measurements if this is indeed how this scope was mounted.Quote:
